Yoga Challange Towel

Yoga Challange Towel by Petunia21

This is my complementary challenge towel I got from my Yoga Challenge. To this minute, I have 5 practicing under my belt, and 16 more to go, with about 26 days to go!

Saturday I got up, put on my yoga gear, ate breakfast ... and sat on the couch for most of the day watching such things as "Giada at Home", "The Brit List", "The Price and Me" and... alas, "The Last Song" featuring Ms. Miley Cyrus...

Thankfully I managed a shower and then went to see Brave with my wife and husband.

So here we go. 21 classes, 21 savasanas, 1 month.

Day 1:  7 am class. CHECK. Just 20 more classes in 30 days to go!

Broken Shoe, Broken Heart

Broken Shoe, Broken Heart by Petunia21

Oh, yeah, its gonna be one of THOSE days... Note to self: Don't do manual labor in your sandals.

I'll throw this in the bag in my car filled with my over-sized belts and broken boot heals.

Lucky for me, I brought in a pair of sneakers in to keep under my desk! Just in case.

Kitty Porn

Hey there, stud.

The Perfect Father'rs Day Gift

According to our friends over at William Sonoma... the gift on all our dad's minds are...

CHICKEN COOPS

The unfortunate thing for me is that this email from WS came out just a tad too late, as my Father's Day gift has already been ordered, and according to the customer service people over at @#$%^$, will ship today. Fingers crossed that it will arrive by Saturday, otherwise, yet again, I'll be finding my self labeled a disappointment. But I fear I will have already set myself up for failure, cause come Saturday (hopefully), no coop, not even CHICKENS, will be arriving at my Dad's doorstep :(.

This is how I roll...

DSCN1126

And by "Roll" I mean... I rolled my ankle while practicing walking around in said 5 inch girlies this morning.

And by "Roll" I also mean, that I have to roll my hips to propel myself forward. I kinda feel like Jessica Rabbit... I'm just saying...

And with the camera flash!

DSCN1125

Could. Not. Resist.

I mean ... can you blame me for picking up one of these suckers if you spotted it at YOUR farmer's market?  I'm just saying....

The husband deflected any suggestions that I had for taking other  photos... I'm sure he would assume they would end up on facebook... and he's not wrong.

When I was done having my 12-year old fits of laughter, I quartered this baby up (taking up the entire Tupperware marinate-r that I used) and we threw on the grill.

I'm all about EAT-ER-TAINMENT...

You Had Me at Godiva...

downsized_0525022041.jpg

But then... EXTRA DARK! Be still my heart! I'm always in the market for anything darker than 79% cacoa. But THEN....... CACOA from the Santo Domingo??? Stop playing Godiva! Just stop. When was DR making chocolate?

Fast forward 2 weekends. I was pursuing the isles of Whole Foods when..... BAM!

ANOTHER brand of chocolate from the Dominican Republic!

And while I'm on a tangent... a few years back, my friend Becky turned me on to this specific brand of dark chocolate that was sourced well in South America.

The workers were paid fairly and a percentage of the profits when back into the community. I wanted to support the company, but each Whole Foods/Trader Joes or co-op I visited did not supply it.  But... guess what just showed up at my nearest work Whole Foods!

Oh, and in case it wasn't clear... Kallari was the brand that Becky was talking about :)

Love... and pupusas

Square Jars

Square Jars by Petunia21
Square Jars, a photo by Petunia21 on Flickr.
Um... I don't know HOW this happened, but 5 of these jars mysteriously found their way into my car early this morning after a stop at Ralphs for Tricuits that were on sale for 1.78 (normally 3.99!) SCORE! (side note, I have a terrible addition to Triscuits. Especially after they came out with all these delicious flavors like, Black Pepper and Olive Oil, Dill and Sea Salt, Garlic, Parmesan, Rosmary and Olive, and I think my FAV is Roasted Red Pepper.

But... I digress... I might find myself at other Ralphs to add to this other sick addition I have with beautiful clear jars... just saying.

I Love My Body

It's kinda depressing to think that one could be the smallest she's ever been in her life, and STILL find fault and flaws in her body...

This "I LOVE MY BODY" saying can be heard muttered out of my mouth as I head to the pool or pop by my neighbor's apartment. She of course, has a body that looks like the model behind me, but I won't take away her thunder :)

When I saw this poster upon our visit to Victoria Secret on Saturday I screamed "Lisa! You HAVE to take my picture!"...

And in the effort of full disclosure... I totally cropped out my stomach from the bottom of the picture... just sayin!

My Addiction

Ok, this bag hit the trash less than 18 hours after I opened it... which was mere seconds after paying for it, while in my co-worker's car as I tried not to spill any on hit seats...

I mean, it was 5 oz. That's not a ton of popcorn right? And I did eat the popcorn out of a bowl with a spoon when I got back into my office!

Dinner 6-4-2012

0604021908.jpg by Petunia21

Meatless Mondays! Oh, why the hell not!

I roasted some organic broccoli with olive oil, salt and garlic powder in a 400 degree oven. Instead of a cookie sheet (which is how I normally roast my veggies)

Flamer

I opted for Flamer. WAY better idea. At least in terms of clean up. I didn't have to deal with scrubbing the bottom of the aluminum pan or wasting money on tin foil (which never seemed to keep the oil from dripping underneath). I soaked for a minute or two in hot water with a touch of liquid soap.) And any time I can use my Le Creuset cookware, just solidifies my excuses for needing them to cook with.

Next was those gorgeous vine ripened tomatoes which still had the vine smell (my favorite part of gardening. Glade should create this scent). I drizzled some extra virgin olive oil over these slices, and topped with some basil, salt and garlic powder.

Sliced and marinated radishes (EVOO, salt and garlic power) were tossed over my quinoa (which was the placeholder for PROTEIN tonight) which had some chili pepper tossed in to the homemade veggie stock that I made last week.

I'm excited that I seem to have a running kitchen, utilizing everything that I am buying to the fullest.

Terry Cloth

I adore Terry Cloth. I really don't know why. But whenever I see it, it reminds me of long days at the beach or lounging by the pool, when your skin is either cold from the cool breeze coming off of the ocean, or trying to dry off from the frigid unheated pool. I have 1 terry cloth short sleeved shirt, and 1 zip up top complete with hood and matching skort pants. I LOVE bringing them to beach. I love napping in them under the umbrella at the beach.

The company Venus has put out these cute Terry cloth lounging piece.

Naturally, I want each one in every color... just saying.
