They are delicious and I have made them for several groups of friends and they have asked for more! I usually leave out the cayenne, liquid smoke and nutritional yeast. They are pretty easy to make you just need a fork to mash and a little time!

Black Bean Burgers
Delisa Renideo

1 15 oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed (or 2 cups if cooking
from scratch)
1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats (not instant)
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs (see note to make your own)
4 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
4 Tbsp. finely chopped carrots
4 Tbsp. finely chopped mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. nutritional yeast
1 tsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp. salsa, optional

Mash beans with fork or potato masher, leaving some texture
Make bread crumbs by processing bread in food processor or blender
briefly.
Mix all ingredients with your hands. It will be very thick.
Form into 6 patties and brown on both sides on frying pan. Lightly
spray the pan or wipe with oil.
Serve on a whole wheat bun with all the condiments for a delicious,
healthy, low-fat burgerHeather K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06005765590227363850noreply@blogger.com
